Supplying the real URL is not going to help resolve this issue.
Here's the deal:
Forum Moderation is on.
A new thread is created (the first post).
An email is sent to the moderator with the thread link.
Problem is, the thread has NOT been accepted yet by the moderator.
That, to me, is a bug. It should send the mod to the mod center for post approval.
I just told my mod's to ignore the link as it is useless in the case of thread/forum moderation.

If what jucs is implying, that mods are unable access a thread that is in the moderation queue, then I'd have to say he's correct. If so, then the logical link in the mail should point to the mod_panel, rather than to the thread, which would give an access-error.
I'm guessing the intended behaviour is that admins/super-mods should be allowed to access any posts, even if they're under moderation, that is, without going via the moderation-queue?
jucs: Your mods, are they super-mods, or regular ones?

They are super mods.
All four of them came back complaining about the link not working in the email.
So, from a human factors standpoint (and common sense), the way it works now is faulty and it was confirmed by 4 totally different people.
Can someone from Vb address this.
Don't tell me to use support, because I might as well go watch my grass grow before getting a response and timely dialogue going. Thank goodness for these forums! :)

jucs,
Two Mods have asked you for the URL and you've refused to supply one. Irregardless of your belief that this will not help resolve the problem, we do have reasons for asking for this information. Unfortunately your lack of cooperation hampers our ability to help.
You could fill out a Support forum, but you appear to be dead set against that too. The truth is that we are going to have to look at your forums, and most likely your Admin CP and FTP in order to figure out what the problem is. Since this doesn't happen on any other forums I'm aware of, there has to be something unique in your situation that's causing this. And we can't know what this is without access to your site and the information we're requesting.
We're trying to help, but we can't do it without your cooperation. It's up to you.

I am not dead set about the support form. But, actions speak louder than words. Which is, I logged one issue on Mod's not being able to get past the mod queue when posting. That's been over a week and the "support" finally asked to get into the admin. I don't want to go back and forth for weeks (several day delay each time) for an issue that should be resolved in a few minutes with knowing how the features work in the software. FYI, they have to be super mod's NOT to get moderated when moderation is on. At least on our VB.
I've provided you with the info you need to test it for yourself. If I am just some isolated incident, then I can live with that. I've spent too much time already with this let alone go back and forth for weeks with a support call or have VB support hack around in my admin. The workaround (ignoring the link in the email) is much more time effective at this point (again, I have spent too much time asking for help!) and the choice I am making in this is to use the workaround.
Thanks for your help.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, I really just want to help.

I will repeat it again. Set it up for yourself. This will tell you whether I am an isolated occurence. :) See the bold below. Make a forum. Turn the forum moderation on. Again, follow the procedure below. Make sure you turn on "email for new threads".
Here's the deal:
Forum Moderation is on.
A new thread is created (the first post).
An email is sent to the moderator with the thread link.
Problem is, the thread has NOT been accepted yet by the moderator.

Ok, I checked with one of the other Mod who is very familiar with the PHP code (which I'm not, unfortunately) and this is what he said:
He's right. Mods are sent a link to the thread even if it's in the moderation queue, and no one (not even admins) can access queued threads. So it does appear that is 'normal' behaviour. Sorry about that! :(

So, continuing this train of thought, any chance this will be improved in v3? Like just simply including the link to the mod-queue rather than the item under moderation?

Tell you what. I'll move this into the Bugs forum so the Developers are aware of it. I would expect they would then fix it in vB 3.
