That's funny!
It's like... if I report all my friends who stole hundreds of dollars from a Best Buy (or whatever), can I keep, say, one of the TV's and a DVD player?

If this happened what would stop all the pirates from reporting each other so they could each get a legal license? :p

You know though.....If VB's staff set it up so that the first report of an "active" pirated board gave you 10% off an owned license where "active" was defined as having X number of posts and X number of members which had been up for X amount of time, it could very well work to their advantage. :D

I would bit my life on it that vB's staff will NEVER give anyone a "free license" just because they report one or a ton of pirated boards. As a business point of view, giving away a free license for stuff like that is just plain stupid. And, I for one, would never do business with vB if I ever found out that they would give away deals like that.

I reported one 4months ago, and they are still up and running, so I guess that warez forum has a legal vb license, anyone want to confirm on warez forums and legal vb licenses ???

I think you missed my point. What I was saying was a discount of 10% off an owned license to the first report of an active pirated board. It could have an interesting effect on pirated versions. In other words, you've not only eliminated the pirated board, but you have the potential of having a new customer from the discount.

In any case, I'm sure that vB will never fall for that. Only an idiot would ask for a deal such as that, and only an idiot would go through with it. No offense to anyone please!
 Since you quoted my post, I'm assuming the idiot in question was me. Here's a hint, if you really don't mean to offend, perhaps you shouldn't use terms like "idiot" so freely.

Dear susan,
My ENTIRE posting was not towards you at all. It was towards the person who started the thread......NOT YOU. I assure you that.
My remark was made to the person asking for a "free license" and not you who suggested the 10% discount.
I removed my comment from my posting so that other's don't make the same mistake.

so does jelsoft allow this type of practice to go on, I reported a forum about 6 months ago when there was only 150 members, and now they are 16,521 members strong and steady growing,
this has me confused now

I doubt it... cos i doubt a warez site would ever pay for anything!

People need to realize the vB staff does not have a button to push to blow up all pirated copies. There are steps to get a site with warez copies down. But sometimes it takes alot longer if the first steps dont work.
Just because a site is still up does NOT mean that vB staff is not working to shut it down. Just means it hasnt happened yet

But the only people who would know about this are the people who frequent Jelsoft's website, i.e. people who already have a vB license
