View Full Version : Moving threads - doesn't leave a locked version behind

When a moderator moves a thread to it's correct forum, vBulletin doesn't leave a locked version behind. UBB did that, with a note that said "this thread has been moved to *wherever*". The lack of a notation might confuse users into thinking it was deleted or whatever. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Why is it a "crappy" version and why has it worked... "relatively" well? :) :) (I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth... just curious if there's any known bugs I should be watching out for.) Thanks Ed.

It's "crappy" compared to Leshrac's UBB version - I just cranked it out to work like the default UBB version.

Not sure what the other was in reference to :) There aren't any known bugs in it, but eva couldn't get it working. Werehere has it going great though.

I've got it working, it just doesn't leave a reference or automatically forward to the new link like the UBB hack. So my mods have to manually put a "this has been moved to ...." post before they close it.

I have it working, and it works flawlessly in my opinion, just like it should work. :)

It has saved my alot of time and headache. :)

How did you get it to automatically redirect?

I do not have the redirect, I only have the hack that Mike wrote for it. In my opinion that is the best way to go, and it happens to be just like the UBB way of doing it. :)

I am looking for this hack, and it seems that it is no longer in Ed Sullivan's signature.

Basically, once this hack is successfully installed for 1.16 I can launch my VB boards. I'll then wait until VB 2.0 is fully released before I move over to that. Getting tired of working on templates that change all the time. :)

can anyone point out this hack to me? (I'll continue looking, as well.)
