Well, I'm a bit stumped by some strangeness connecting to mySQL on my laptop. It's a Win2000 machine, I do a lot of different things on it. I had to buy a new network card for my laptop, and ever since then I've had some troubles connecting to mySQL. I get a message that says something like "Can't connect to mySQL on host xxxxx: Error 10066." I'm pretty sure it's 10066, anyway.
Here's the odd thing, though - some programs CAN connect to it. These programs can:
DBTools, later versions
myAccess
Windows Scripting Host
mySQL GUI
Programs that can't:
DBTools, earlier versions
myCC
It seems REALLY odd that some programs can connect to mySQL running on my laptop and others can't. It would seem (somehow) to be tied to my network card, but I don't know why exactly. Any ideas out there? Help would be greatly appreciated! :)
