I say vBulletin is much faster because of its PHP/MYSQL.

Can put strains on your server for bandwidth but its fast!

Actually, vB has nothing to do with how much bandwidth your site takes up. You have access to all the HTML via the templates, so you can make your vB as bandwidth friendly/hogging as you want. :)
