Is it possible with the current version of vB to divide a big forum into smaller forums with each forum having it's own server and website?

A fictive example:

If you have a forum at www.happyhobbies.com with subforums about hunting and fishing growing very large it would be very nice to be able to purchase individual vBulletin licenses and then just upgrade these subforums to become main forums with individual websites (eg. www.happyhunting.com + www.happyfishing.com). Transfer of posts from the old subforums to the new main forums should be possible.

If this feature does not exist it would be on top of my wish list for vb3.

Can this be done in the current version of vB simply by:

1) buying a new license
2) copying the whole forum to the new url
3) changing the desired subforum to be the main forum
4) deleting the other subforums at the new url

If you download and install the entire database at each location following the instructions in the manual. Yes.

This is what I am thinking of doing to save money (I am at the lowest income level there is). I want to make a sub forum for a new Mac site I am doing and then once the forum gets to big (or the locals get resless), then close the forum one night, backup the db, move to the new server, restore, update threads.

Now the question I have, the registered users.

If user A has 500 posts, and only 200 are in the sub forum, then there post count, ould be only 200 if you did the prun feature? this si fine, the only problem would be the users who registered but never posted in the sub forum. or the registered users from the main forum. you would need to delete them I guess.

Thanks this has made up my mind, and I will go sub forum until I can afford a second vb licence.
