Not sure where else I could post this, just that I found this mildly amusing when I went to my boards today.


This thread alone has 15225 posts in it, with twice that in views since the 25th 8th 2001.

What was the tested limit that vB had for it's thread replies? 20,000 wasn't it? Oh well, we should get there soon :)

Theoretically, the maximum number of replies to a thread is 9,999,999,999 (I believe), seeing as the postid field is set in MySQL as INT(10)...

I'm sorry. I'm going to have to look for another solution to my bulletin board needs. I have nearly 1000 posts on my board now, but I can see the day coming, very soon, where I may need to break 10 billion in one thread.

lol just change the type of thing in the mysql db. its at INT(10) atm
just make it INT(255) if u want but i aint sure if u can go that high. :) easily done. as that'll allow loads of posts thatd be terabytes big :p

Yeah, that is not a good idea on really long threads. Something that has been fixed in I believe vb 2.2.2 but don't quote me on that.
