We have quite a few moderators at our forums on t-break (http://www.tbreak.com/forums) and we've created a forum called "Recycle Bin" that is only visible to Moderators and Admins.

Whenever we see a rubbish thread that needs to be deleted, then instead of the Moderator/Admin deleting the post, he moves it to the Recycle Bin forum.

This way all the Admins and Moderators can see exactly what the post was about before it being wiped out.

Just thought I'd share this good idea with you guys and maybe the vB forum team than can add this feature as an Administartive Option in the future releases of vB.

To take this a few step further. I also created a recycle bin only viewable by admins and moderators. You can move an entire topic there which needs to be deleted, or you can also copy a topic to the recycle bin that only needs a post or two deleted, or a post or two edited. Once moved to the recycle bin in it's entirity, I ask the moderator to edit the post in question, in the recycle bin using red text to explaine what they had either edited or deleted, as a reference to both the other moderators as well as admins. They can then go to the public forum, perform the changes, and only make public to the admins and moderators what had happened. I have found this a very effective way to maintain control of the forums with little or no upriasing.

I just make it a rule not to delete posts. We have a hidden forum called "The Void" where all unwanted posts/threads are relocated to. Besides, telling the mods to void it is much more enticing than 'move that one to the recycle bin' :)
