just an idea that if u cud upload your sql back up file via ftp to your host then in vbulletin cp do a restore like u can with a style file think it would be great for thos who dont have telnet axx

php scripted imports of sql have been known to not work properly or time out like backups done in vB admin back..
recommended is to use telnet yourself or get your web host to do it ;)

yes but if the file is on the host already then the timeout shud not be a problem anymore

The main reason there is no restore feature in the Admin Control panel is simply because it won't always possible. When you get to the point where you have to restore your entire database, chances are you won't be able to log into the Admin Control Panel to do so anyway. ;)
