edit attachment

A moderator recently edited his attachment and deleted insted of modifying it. Once gone it was not possible in the edit mode to add a attachment. He had to delete the post and start again. He was also unhappy that the post counter was set back to zero and it could not be edited.
Please expand the edit feature to include attachments and counters.

The attachment part I can understand but if you edit your post and change the attachment to another attachment, the counter should be reset since it's a different attachment.

On the counter, the point is if a mistake is made and the post is lost ther is no way to edit the counter. I guess there is some glory to having a lot of visits etc.
