Could vB3 please feature a private messaging log. It concerns me when I receive complaints about abuse through our private messaging, or if some other problem were to arise at some point, that if the parties involved were to claim certain messages were never sent I have no way of proving otherwise.

What I think is needed is a database logging who sent the message, who it was sent to, date/time stamp, and the subject name. That log should have an option to simply grow (for those who are not concerned about disk space) or automatic pruning to maintain no more than x entries in the log.

Cheers,

I would think that if a party were to claim they were sent a message, if it were to go to where it actuallly mattered (i.e. into a court) the burden would be on them to produce the message.

I find it hard to believe that if Infopop were to begin abusing your system that you'd simply rely on individual members to "take it where it matters" and produce their own evidence to win a court case for you (remembering you have no way of producing any evidence WHAT-SO-EVER yourself). Like that would happen!

Of course you could mass contact every single member and ask them to forward the message to you, maybe 30% would if they still had it. Unfortunately those forwarded messages would be useless because the quoted message would be nothing more than text that says "originally written by Infopop...." which anyone could have fabricated.
