Most likely not something we would actively support. Something like this will only encourage more piracy.

Well you could ask your host very nicely for another database :)

It's best not to host two boards in the same database anyway (especially a dev board) because if you muck up the dev board then the real board may get damaged as well.

What if the host only allows one database and the person already has something installed to one database? vBulletin 2 uses a lot of table names that could be commonly used with other programs. What about making vBulletin tables installable with prefixes (like *Nuke allows you to make its tables prefixed with nuke_bleh)

Well... asking 'very nicely' wouldn't help - I have the option to purchase more databases - every database costs 5 EUR. That means that at the moment I pay 5 EUR per month as I have two licenses for two sites - you can check this. YES, I would really like it to see to be able to install two forums (plus our two internal test boards which run local at the computers of every developer - wouldn't it be better if I wouldn't have to give the copies out to 5 other persons?) on one database...

That is a different question than using one database to power multiple copies of the .php files, and would be solved by prefixes on the table names if they were user-assignable. I don't know if that will be the case or not.
