Anybody have any comments about them? I'm suspicious because first after doing a WHOIS on their domain, it's registered to a person, not a company. Also check out this image:

Look where it says "Go2Search", the font is completely different and not antialiased like the rest. It was clearly ripped from somewhere else. But their support always get back to me within an hour or two. They also don't have a phone number on there.

Any opinions or testimonials?

I emailed them a while ago asking them some specific questions about their service and this is what they had to say:

Hi,

Our hosting servers fully support the PHP4 programming language and have MySQL 3.23.49 installed.

Our MySQL system supports multiple connections but only on the local level. The MySQL database will not accept remote connections originating from outside its hosting server. Please note that you shouldn't be confused by that statement as a message board script would be hosted on its designated hosting server and therefore all connections would be local in nature if coming from a script hosted on one of our hosting servers.

As for your webspace question, we will only state that we offer unmetered webspace and bandwidth which means that there are no hidden charges or fees for usage above some arbitrarily set upper limit. Now do not be confused to think that we offer unlimited usage of system resources for unlimited terms of use.

We enforce an acceptable use policy and also please note that we are a webhost for small to midsized trafficked websites. Also, you should know that our hosting services are specialized in that we primarily focus in hosting small to midsized online business websites. With our programming support geared to accomodate the wide variety of shopping cart systems and our shared secure server access geared for online merchants that wish to do secure business online each and everyday.

Now to sites that are not related to our primary hosting focus, we enforce our Acceptable Use Policy very strictly.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Sincerely,
Go2! Search Support Staff

comments: I'll be brief as possible, but I would like to know the following before I make a descion with my partner to head in your direction.

We would like to run what is similar to a BBS forum, it's called VBulliten (http://www.vbulliten.com).

Will your SQL database and PHP support this? It should if it's 2.0 or greater.

Does your SQL database allow multiple connections that we would need to support this scripting?

How much space would we start off with initially?

Let me know.. Thanks. =)

With this being a cgi scripted email, it could have been an automated response, but the answers were not really clear.
I personally wouldn't go with them, just for the reason that they sound like, they're fraudulent from what you're saying, then i don't like'em.
