when I uploaded the latest dev version of vB to my server and overwrote the existing files (per instructions) I can no longer access the control panel. All it does is tell me I'm not a vaild admin and bump me back to the login screen...
Everything else seems to work fine.
I also just downloaded it again in case he made some other changes that might have fixed this...

Are you sure you are using the correct case for the selected user and pass you chose when you installed?
Maybe click on the lost password link in the forum if you have it to this stage.
A fresh install might be the solution. upload and run the install.php script again, this will wipe all imports and clear the database.
I had to do this after an import problem. the second attempt did the trick

I use the exact same username/password combo to get in under 1.1.1
I have tired this with my regular username (which is an admin), my strictly Admin name, my partners Admin name and every time it works in 1.1.1 but not in 1.1.2

Are you running php4 or 3?
Some people here have reported incompatibility issues with 4.
If 1.1.1 is working for you , just roll back and wait a week or so for a new upgrade.

I'll have a look into that - it should be letting you in.

I'm running PHP 4.0 RC1 with Zend Optimization. Again, though, PHP isn't the problem, because if that was the prob, it wouldn't work with 1.1.1 either.
I did try setting up PHP as an ISAPI module, but I ran into problems trying to post with it. The pages loaded with blazing speed, though.
I really didn't see any increase in speed over my present board running PHP as CGI, though. Mebbe I need to bump up my hardware acceleration?
Anyhoo, thanx again for the efforts :) I hope this spirit of helping each stays as we get into 5.x releases :)
