This is probally a daft question, but please bear with me!

We have a domain name registered at Internetters.co.uk - whom we have hosted with in the past and are happy with...

However we have withstrained from buying hosting yet for this name because we don't know if they can host vBulletin, I have sent them an email asking then and am awaiting response...

However I would like to clear things up a bit futher in my head!

They do accept PHP Support and My SQL etc,
So.. Can any Host with the correct requirements, host vbulletin board or do you need there permission and get them to install it??

Also what I am not understanding is how you set it up if you only have ftp access?
Do you need to install software on the server, or do you just place the files in the locations ....

I have read though this site, maybe I am missing something glaringly obvious....

Can you help??

Hi,
Sorry I haven't replied for a while, been a bit busy ... oh and btw HUGE thanks for your help on this!!!

Are you sure that standard 80 account won't work?
It does contain both PHP3/4 support & MySQL database, or is there something else its missing?

Also regarding installing, can I do this from ftp and http or do I require some form of dial in to the server, or help from internetters?

Hmmm I feel like I am asking daft questions, but I really don't want to buy the hosting then discover we can't use it!!!

Thanks again for your help...
