[fixed] Message icon won't update on edit

If a user goes back to their first post in the thread and say wants to change the icon from the thumbs up icon to thumbs down it won't change it in the view where you are looking at all the threads in a list. I have a forum where users get rated and sometimes they want to change the icon so it appears in the threadlist view but the changes I think are only in the post itself.

Is this a bug where upon editing a post the icon doesn't update? I'll try it here on this board now to test...

Actually, this is also the case with the initial thread-subject.

That problem can be fixed by changing the time in seconds on the admin control panel to a higher value which allows users to edit their posts.

Are you saying that while you can edit the title, changing the icon is impossible? Heh, that's illogical.

Illogical yes. But that is what is happening...go to the top of this thread an look at the icon in that post...the sad smile face which I changed it to during an edit of that post. The original was the thumbs down icon. If you go to the thread view now you will in fact see it did not change to the sad smile and is still the thumbs down icon. A database update is not being made during the edit routine that is being made during the original insert of the record.

Heh, yea, I see it. I'm guessing it's because the title, icon etc. is saved as part of the HTML-message in the table. The forums-title/icon might also be saved as HTML (I don't recall) in which case it's a minor bug.

No..it's saved in the "thread" table in the database as column "iconid". When you edit a post and change the icon vbulletin doesn't seem to add the update for that field to set it to the new/updated icon.

This happens on my board too (new message icon not updating on the thread list) and I was hoping that there'd be a fix here on this board.

I hope this will be looked at in the next version.
