i just signed up with interserver...my previous boards were installed by you guys on digiweb's mysql servers...they were horrible, so i moved hosts, only thing is, i can't my boards to work on the new MySQL database...

Here's a conversation i'm having with interserver's tech support (they're boards are just as helpful as yours)
http://boards.interserver.net/NonCGI/Forum2/HTML/000407.html

this is the last thing i was told:

"Uhoh.
Look in the source of that error message:
<!-- Database error in vBulletin: Invalid SQL: SELECT template FROM template WHERE title='options'
mysql error: Table 'netemcee_lyricolympics.template' doesn't exist
mysql error number: 1146
Date: Sunday 08th of October 2000 12:59:55 AM
Script: /boards/index.php
Referer:
-->

Read the README and INSTALL files that probally came with the software. There's probally something about setting up the database that you didn't do."

any ideas???

Just like Jumpworld.net:

You must add the user to the database!

In fact Jumpworld.net is owned by your hosting company thats why its the same fashion with databases.

vBulletin Installtion sets up the tables so that shouldn't be a problem.

I am unsure how you do it but if its the same as Jumpworld.net's control panel all you have to do is:

Goto the MYSQL Section where you have the database there.

Then next to its name you can add a user to the database.
You can add the user to the database if you have created a user.

but like I said I am unsure if their control panel is the same as Jumpworld.net.

Just a guest sorry if anyone else can jump in and help please do.

If you read the thread he linked to, you'll see that I *think* he's past that step.

Mental Stamina - did you run install.php? :)

thanks ed for correcting me. :)

You must have ran install.php before to get that error.

Its best to start over again making sure everything is ok then run install.php

all should go well then. :)
