Hi,

iīve the following problem:

My german provider "Host Europe" wants to close my account where iīve nothing but my vbulletin-Star Wars-forum installed.

He said my forum is pulling down the performance of a whole server. Iīm also getting a mail with this error-report about at least 50 times a day:

"Database error in vBulletin 2.2.0:
Invalid SQL: SELECT usergroupid FROM user WHERE userid=3
mysql error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
mysql error number: 2013
Date: Thursday 27th of December 2001 08:03:32 PM"

The error-message varies everytime, but the error numbers stays the same. Since iīm not much into MySQL, iīve no idea what to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

The forum is @ www.projektstarwars.de/forum

try turning off persistant connections in your config.php

this could help some. Else try find a new host :). there is a hosting testimonials thread right on top of this forum.

I recommend Ventures Online. :).

I tried the persistand connections tip before, sadly it didnīt work.

You think its the fault of the host and not perhaps a wrong forum setting?

1. Average forum-members + guests is about 10 - 20. Not enough for such problems i think.

2. I collected some infos about the server:

- PHP Version 4.0.6
- MySQL 3.22.32
- Linux sa-webpack.one-2-one.net 2.2.19-6.2.1

- Donīt know how many sites are sharing that server

I wasnīt sure what infos you need. If thereīs something missing pls tell me.

hmmm that mysql seems out dated but without knowing how much memory and cpu(s) speed it's hard to say
