I was getting around 4 error e-mail a day recently and sent and received this from my host;
mysql error: Lost connection to MySQL server during querymysql error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
mysql error number: 2013
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This sounds like a server timeout. It is unlikely that the forum is getting that much use that SQL isn't powerful enough to run it, otherwise you would have to look at an option like Oracle on a dedicated server. It is more likely that your table index's aren't configured correctly which is causing the delay & timeout.
Any comments from the development team or anyone with mySQL knowledge?
