Finally I've got approval to replace my dying single 500MHz Pentium III with 256MB RAM running Linux Redhat 7.2 with a brand new server - Compaq Proliant ML350G2 with 2 x 1.1GHz Pentium III, 2GB RAM.

My current load is around 1,200 registered users, 80 users online .. going to 200 eventually, 65,000 posts

What do I need for an optimal installation of Redhat 7.2, PHP and MySQL to take full advantage of the new server's memory and power? Would just a straight Redhat 7.2 installation with updates from Redhat suffice?

Thanks.

latest php 4.1.0 and mysql 3.23.46 installs would help too :)
