Sorry if I have posted in the wrong forum, please feel free to move it if I have!
Q1. http://vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34722 AND http://vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34720
I have just upgraded my board from 2.0.1 to 2.2.1 few days ago, do I still need to re-upload these files and make the relevant code changes or does the VB download in the members area already done all of this?
Q2. Why cant I make a thread in the 'Bugs' forum when I can post replies? As far as Im aware, I have entered my info in all the neccesary places!
Thanks

1. You need to either upload the new files that John has attached, or make the code changes to the existing files yourself.
2. If you have a bug to report please post it in the 'Troubleshooting' forum, where a moderator will verify it and move it to the bugs forum for you :)

Thanks for clearing all that up!
I didnt even know the lost password prob existed until I browsed the Bugs forum, anyway after having tested my board by using the lost password feature and having seen the problem with my own eyes - I uploaded the global.php in Johns thread (see above thread) and it seems to have fixed the problem!
Just one thing, why doesnt VB update their VB download as soon as these bugs have been found and fixed?? You could even have two downloads, one which is originally released, and another which contains all the bug fixes!
Can you pls also explain this as I cant get my head round it, why has the thread with Johns big fix got 3000+ views yet only 56 people have downloaded the attachment?? strange!!
??
Thanks

If we updated the ZIP each time bugs were found then we would have to call it a new version number - eg 2.2.1.1. That would cause a huge problem as we would have an unmanageable number of releases and us support staff would have a hard time figuring out which versions people were running and what was/wasn't fixed.
As for why many people haven't downloaded it, I think many people will make the code changes themselves. Lots of people 'hack' their vB's with code changes and if they just downloaded John's files then those changes would be overwritten.
