Next important version?

Hi,

I'm currently using vB 2.0.3 and, as there are too many hacks to update, I'm thinking about doing a clean install, than hacking and than importing users, posts etc. As my site is using the vB database as community system and I use an automated system for creating new hosted forums etc. it would be very much work. So I'm wondering if there comes out a new imporant version (maybe 2.3 or 3.0) the next months? Then I would wait with upgrading...

We recommend upgrading to 2.2.1 for a number of reasons:
- It's more secure (not just encrypted passwords)
- More features
- It's the only way to upgrade to v3, due out in spring of 2002

v3 is due out in spring 2002, sometime around late March or April.

Yes, but why shouldn't there be more import scripts?

There are more import scripts:

2.0.3 -> 2.2.0
2.2.0 -> 2.2.1

We need one base to start off from with the import script for v3 as it will be a pretty complex operation. The base place has been chosen to be the last stable version, which is 2.2.1.
