View Full Version : Suggestion for Usre Defined Fields (Profile?)

Instead of just having text box fields, it would be nice to choose the other HTML input type fields, list, combo, radio, etc., and then define the choices. There is too much room for error, for example if I want a Yes/No response, and limit the input size to 3, they can still put in something like "hmm" instead!

Just a suggestion, vBulletin rules!!

Okay, great! I used BuzzPower before moving over, they allowed this, it worked nice.

For his defence I must say I could never find the right version of that file until James gave me a full link. :)

I remember suggesting that back in the VB2 beta days. I actually added that feature to my site myself because I really needed to have a check box in extra field.

Hehe. :)

I visit it very often, it's so much fun looking at the code and learning from it.
(...and stealing stuff for vBulletin.org :p j/k)

YES, this is *exactly* what I was waiting for! I run a support website for patients with a hair-disease. What I would like to do is, to put a new custom profile field into the board with a dropdown-list:

Alopecia Androgenetica
Alopecia Areata
Chemo-therapy
Hirsutisme
Trichotillomania
Other....

So users can choose one of the above. When they choose 'other...' they should have the ability to put a text of their own into the field next to the dropdownlist.

I think this improves VBulletin a lot.
