A lot of people like the XP icons because it deviats from the normal icons which everyone uses. I usually ask the client if they want to use the XP icons before I go ahead with it.. Anyway, I think they look nice :)

I see what snyx is saying. Kinda like movies. Used to be cool to have a weird ending. Now everyone is having weird endings and its just not cool anymore. Over done, over used.
Heck, its even like the planet kosmos font. That thing is a friggin curse! lol I can't wait to open my new site to get away from that damn font. lol
Its cool though I dig it. :)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I just happen to think the XP icons are a good way to get away from the normal icons yet still retaining an approach thats understandable.
Anyway, its all good :D

Yep. Not much you can do if a client wants it. Not like you're going to say no. Same way some people ask for the font I was just talking about. Now, I dislike it but you think I would tell the client no? Heck no. Its all good in the vBulletin hood. :)

Only thing I would change is the sword... The Celtics weren't big on the crusades or prosetylizing for Christianity. It wasn't until they were conquered later (much later) that their stories were Christianized by the monks sent by the church to maintain order.
A Roman sword would be much better as they were the major reason that Christianity spread in the early years after it was declared the 'official' religion.

You've got a point there. A roman sword might look better. Although the sword isn't supposed to symbolize any particular historical time period. I was going more for a reformation look, and not early Roman Christianity.
The sword actually is symbolic of Scripture. Believe it or not, I'm a pacifist and do not believe in the use of the sword to promote an idea or religion...
The symbolism for the sword is found in this passage of Scripture:
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12

Dave:
The two terms are used interchangeably though you are correct Celts would probably be more appropriate. I don't know what the term "Taking the piss" means.
I just noticed it was a Celtic War Sword used in the dark ages.
The only reason I really know the kind of sword, is because it is one of the items that will be sold in the online store I am building.
Kermie:
Thanks for the invite to post at your site. However I did review the site yesterday and find that my personal views of religion are diametrically opposed to yours so I will have to pass.

I grew up somewhat un-religious. My personal is opinion is I don't hold anything against any sort of religion. Its all in what you beleive though, no one can change that.

I see what Wluke is saying big time. I followed the link and started reading around and within 5 minutes I was just annoyed, and shaking my head. So I hit the x up top right and got out of there.
I have the commone sense enough to realize I am the opposite of 90% of what I read. All I would do there is debat and debate. No use really.
When your opinion is so drastically different its better to avoid the situation...cause in cases like religion neither side ever budges on their opinions. Its just too much a part of someone.

Kermie, nice site.
Sinecure, nice colors, as always. :)
I was going to browse a bit and maybe even drop a line or two on some of the threads (having studied christianity, islam, theology and philology myself), but found the host to be much too opinionated. So I will leave it at:- NICE SITE. :)

The West actually got the idea of using steal in their sowards from the non-Christians they fought during the crusades.
I had to write a big long essay in school about the things the we learned from the non-Christians during the crusades and how it effected the world we live in today.

Many fonts are actually copywrited material and should be protected like any other software. If you are looking for a particular font then a quick search should tell you if it is available for download and/or electronic purchase or free.
