aloa :)

I just purchased a leased copy of vbulletin, logged in to the 'members' section to download it, but it wants me to enter/submit an URL first.

The problem is, our site ain't live yet. I leased vbulletin to use it internally in a vmware machine which i use for development etc, but it this doesn't have a valid url for the outside... only I can reach it by entering http://cave

soooo what URL do I have to submit? the final one where it will actually be used? and what about (subdomains)

I mean, I want people to be able to go to our forums once alive using

forum.domain.com and (www.)domain.com/forum/

etc.... but it's always the same.. just different pointers.... will this be a problem?

cheers,
joerg :)

If you are putting it on a private server put:

http://privateserver

but then email John/James (the admin's) and tell them the situation.

Second Point: It won't be a problem, just give one of the URL's that the forum resolves to.

Hope i have helped.

Just to correct that - there's no need to email us if it's going on a private server. Just key in the address that will be used to access it, eg http://cave

When you move it, please put up either it's final domain name or a URL to access it - either is fine.

Thanks for the quick response :)

Does this mean I can change the address at a later point of time (as soon as we will deploy the actual website) if i entered http://cave as the URL right now?
