Hi everyone. If this question has been answered / addressed previously, I humbly apologize but couldn't find it through the search function.

I have two active forums one being version 3.8.4 PL1 that has it's own forum members, topics, and categories and then I have another forum that is version 2.3.2 again with it's own members, topics, etc.

What I want to do is combine all of them into the forum that is the 3.8 version and will soon be the 4.X version.

Are there instructions or a "how-to" somewhere on how I can migrate the old version forum into the new one?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. From what I've read, perhaps "impex" might be the solution?

Thank you,
Tim

yes.

But first you have to get both of them at the same version. Then use Impex to merge them into one forum.

Ok thank you. I'm unclear on the licensing for the 2.3.X board and I guess since I'm merging them into my valid and up to date license it won't matter? I'd obviously have to use my username/license info when upgrading hence why I'm asking.

are you sure? I've merged vb 2.x databases with the current vB version just fine

I would update your target forum to the latest, then just import the source (doesn't have to be the latest version)
