We are a new community with a membership from an older community.

We just experienced a password reset for admins. We have a stable admin group and my question is as long as we have trusted admins without turnover is there any downside in not changing passwords on a routine basis. Does a password become less secure just because it is in use for a long period of time as long as the user of the password guards the use of it?

Thanks, Scott

You'll be fine never updating or changing the password as long as the password is secure the first time around.

I've never changed my password on a forum I help admin for over 6 years now and there hasn't been a single issue ever with it.
