I am trying to turn my forum back on. I know how to do that, but when I try to go into my admin, I get the error below. How do I get to the install directory?
Thanks in advance.

Security Alert!

install.php still remains in the /install/ directory.

This poses a security risk, so please delete that file immediately. You cannot access the control panel until you do so

/forum/install/install.php

Use your FTP program to delete the file. Or you can use your file manager program in cPanel.

Thanks. I can't get to the control panel--I gt the error in my first post when I try, and when I went to forum/install/install.php, it only allows me to upgrade vbulletin-I upgraded it.

Not the control panel....

Did you upgrade this yourself?

How did you get the files on your server?

Use the same FTP program you used to upload your files, but use it to browse to the install.php file and delete it.

Vbulletin shows that it's updated to version 3.84. A tech rep normally does this for me. I just thought I could turn my forum on.

In order to turn on your forums, you musty access your admincp. In order to access the admincp, the install.php file must be deleted. You have a conundrum.

Apparently someone else did an recent upgrade on your system and the person did not pay attention to the warning at the end of the upgrade that warned them to delete the install.php file.

Do you know how to use an FTP program to access your files on the host server? If not, you may want to call your "tech rep".

I don't know how to use an FTP program to access my files. I'll contact the tech rep--he did an upgrade Friday. Thanks for taking the time to assist me.

Yep, that's your best bet. Good luck.
