I just re-read the licensing agreement. It says that you may install vBulletin on one web server and one web site for each license purchased.

I am assuming that this means you cannot have a test forum without purchasing two licenses.

I would like to have two forums installed: one for live use, and one for use by me to test new features and changes to templates.

I want to test my template changes without driving my members and guests crazy, but I also don't want to violate the licensing agreement.

Is the only option to purchase two licenses?

well i believe you can have a test install, but it has to be private and not accesible by the public or visitors...

My intent is to have a private forum not accessible to the public or visitors.

I don't think anyone is going to beat you down for having a test forum for yourself. It is something alot of us have, especially those who make hacks.

Yea protect it with .htaccess and all will be good ;) I also have a test forum......the way I look at it is; its basically a copy of the main board, so its not like your running 2 different boards

I agree - seems like no problem to me...as long as it's for internal use only :)

I think most of the people here have test forums, either for the hackers to test their hacks before they are released, or for users to test the installation of the hacks before using it on the main boards.
If this was against the terms, I think everyone here would be in serious trouble
