Can you give me some details of how the search function works? Does it simply rank posts by the number of times a word appears in it? Does it take into account the closeness of words in a phrase first? Does it rank subjects before the post itself? I noticed in the control panel there is a link to build a search index...what exactly does this do? Can you set it to be built on a regular basis?

The search algorithm is fairly simple. It checks to see if the thread contains the text or not. The threads are then ordered by the original post date with the newest first. I will adding more options to this in the future.

The build search index in the control panel is just for use if you delete a lot of posts, for example. Ordinarily, you shouldn't need to use it as search index is built as it goes along most of the time.
