Normally under UBB or other forum programs, an email is sent out to the first person who started a topic when someone replies to that topic. How does vBulletin go about emailing out notification of replies ?
I just got an email saying "Slasher has just replied to your thread entitled - So, how are you guys liking the graphics? ...." and I was a person who responded to the original topic - not the person who started the topic. Does that mean that vBulletin emails out to everyone who previously responded to the topic when a new person responds (as long as they check the box for email notification). When a topic with 10 responses (each by a different individual) receives its 11th response, does that mean that 11 emails are sent out (one to each of the 10 people who responded ?)
If so, what kind of load on a system would that be for a site like http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro
Humm....
