Email notifications questions

Just a couple of things about these.

1) I don't like the way that if you do not go to a thread after receiving a notification that it will not send you another one until you do visit. I understand that this is to stop you getting 50 emails about one thread but the problem arises say at this site in the announcements forum when i want to go and see Johns posts but perhaps not the others ones (ie will not make special visit but just perhaps look at when i get there). It does mean that i will then miss out on any other replies though.

2) Why can visitors not adopt to receieve i) email about new threads in their categories and b) email about all new posts in their categories (of choice) this seems like a pretty essential feature (i know you can do it through admin but not the best way is it?

chris emailnotification only goes by your lastactivity so you do not have to visit the thread to reset the notifies but only visit the forum.

Arr, that is a lot better.

One more thing (not 100% related). On the view new topics link. Is there a way to set this up so that it is not new if you are the last poster. That seems a little silly. Also, when it shows up the new links instead of topic starter it would be a lot better to show "last poster" makes more sense.

Just thoughts, want to make it easier for people to find posts they have not yet seen.
