I moved this to a more relevant forum.

before anyone can advise you on how to install PHP on your server, they would first have to know which OS and webserver you're using.

I'm using setupsite.com as my hosting provider. They use NT Servers.

Hi Sethweathers :)

I had this same problem very recently. It turned out that my server offered free PHP scripts for uploading onto my site. From what I understand many servers offer these scripts (why they don't just make the sites PHP compliant in the first place is beyond me, but thats a whole 'nother story.... :) )

:p Anyway, click around on your control panel of your website, and you may find something called "freebies".. or "extras". If not just call your web server tech department and ask if they offer PHP scripts (or if maybe your site is already PHP-ready).

Anyways, here is a quickie advisory about PHP Scripts and also a location where you can go to get PHP scripts:

vBulletin requires your server to have PHP installed, so you must contact the administrator of the web server if you receive an error message. If you are the administrator, here are a few things to check:

Make sure that PHP is installed (sounds obvious but worth checking). To get PHP, go to this site:
http://www.php.net/

....That info is taken right from the vBulletin install manual located at http://www.vbulletin.com/manual/install.html

Hope this helps!

Thanks Xube.

But, i've already called my host. they said that they WON'T install it and I can try and do it on my own if i want to. is it possible to install it myself?

Thanks!

Well, I'm not an "expert" at this at all, and I found it easy to install php. Go to the Php site I mentioned above and see if you can get the appropriate scripts for your site. From there it is just a matter of loading the script onto your site (its already pre-written).

:) Good Luck to you!
