Where are this promised weekly blog-updates for 4.0?

It will be a month in a week since last update
Also there are no news in http://www.vbulletin.com/vbulletin4/announcements.php since march 09.

This is not how customers should be treated... waiting in the dark with no answers, no updates, no statements, no nothing but empty promises. :(

Oh please. There have already been discussions about this all over the place. How many times does that quivering mass of goo need to be beaten?

Oh please what?

I am not to searching forum for such threads (not to mention search flood). I want clear answer, and instead of empty question, you could quote staff statement on this issue if you found one.

And also I noticed a lot of threads are being closed lately without explanation.

Tnx for link, although I think this is just **ll***t. No time for posting 1 blog? Yeah yeah yeah yeah...

This is reinstatement of what was promised first - weekly blogs.

It does however promise that beta should be there before end of Q2. But what doest that mean exactely? That should be public beta then, private beta, end of beta...?

This is no clear answer.

I don't like flaming of any kind or whining, but clear statement is all I ask for.

The clear statement is that the Devs will post a Blog only when they have something new and useful to report. At this point they are working hard at getting vB 4 ready for Alpha and Beta testing. They are not adding any new features so there really is nothing else to report.

I suspect that will not satisfy you but that's the answer for now. :)

So should you.

Schwab, we all shouldn't tell users what to do.
Neither should you.

Your want of a forum software to be released within a set time limit is kind of dumb. Honestly, perfection cannot be rushed. If you want a crappy piece of software with hundreds of bugs, over a well-polished one without barely any bugs, then you're in the wrong place.

<div class="sarcasm" id="42"><em>Obviously!</em> Because your current forum still completely stop to function and no longer do and give you what you wanted out of it, from when you paid for that version. In 28 days. </div>

Lol! I agree it's curious to give up on VB because the new version isn't here yet (please retrieve toys that were dispatched from pram), but some clear communication, fed from a clear internal strategy/plan, that lets us know what's going on would be nice.

HTML fail... maybe in HTML 7?

The devs should take as long as they need to perfect a reasonable version. Time limits are nice for us, but not for devs. E.g I have 1hr 30 mins today to write a story and an essay, the result of which? I think think a pretty bad essay and/or story.

May I ask what it is you want from vB 4.0 that you want so badly that you will give up vB if you don't get it in less than a month?

To an extent, yes. What if you had 1 year to write your essay? End result? An essay done rushed in the last few days ;).

Tnx

Sometimes (almost always in fact) it seems to me, that ppl who are pushed in public to answer our most trolling questions are the ones who are the less responsible for it. Sry. They need to answer polite, atlhough they don't have clear answer.

Thumbs up for u guys, it s just a job :)

Easy: i want to see what the devs did in these MONTHS. Then i will decide if wait to a reasonably stable relase of this board or convert my forum. I think i have waited enought. We have all waited enought.
Ehm.. edit: the answer is that the board looks ugly to the most side of my user, and there is a good alternative out of there. I will simple stop losing time waiting for this vbulletin relase if they will delay it another time. I personally know this system very well, this is what stopped me from converting first.

Nope, I would logically plan it out to give myself a few weeks before deadline.

This has got to be the most impatient thing ever. You want, a brand new version of the software, with hundreds of changes, a new style and lots of new major features in 27 days? That's just insane.

I repeat, we have been waiting for this for a very very long time. I just want the beta of this.
The 27days are relative to the term that the staff comuniced to us time ago. I just want what have been promised to be respected.

It says :

We are working hard and plan to have vBulletin 4.0 released in beta form in early Q2 of 2009.

There is no promise or guarantee there.

Floris

What is says specifically is:

PLAN, meaning it can be early, it can be late.

BETA FORM, meaning, a public or private beta.
