UBB -> vB question

I want to switch servers AND switch to vB at the same time, is this possible? Or would I have to transfer the necessary files to my new server before beginning the transfer? My forum is huge, so that would be quite inconvenient.

Also, I hear there is a newer vB coming out soon. Should I wait for this version to come out? Or will it be simple to upgrade from the current vB to the next?

Well, for switching, best if you convert on the old server, dump the db, and reimport it back, as the mysql database will be much smaller than moving all the UBB data.

As for the newewer vB - depends I guess how urgent the move is. AN upgrade from the current 1.1.3 to the next version should be easy, unless you isntall any hacks.

On average, how much smaller, than a ubb, is a vB with the same number of threads?

my UBB is about 250 MB!!!!

my vB dump is about 29 MB

Brillant, mine is about 250 as well.
