Exporting forum category from one vB forum to another vB forum

Does Impex allow for exporting data from a vB forum to another vB forum? I have two forums and I'm looking to consolidate them. My first concern would be to bring a few of the forum categories over to the consolidated forum, but not sure how to go about this.

I have around 2000 members that I'd like to export. However, some of these members are already in the consolidated forums. How would I go about importing them without causing issues with their existing accounts?

Yes you can use Impex to import data from one vB to another. There is no option to import partial data though. You would have to import all of it. One possible way to do this would be to remove the data you don't want imported first.

As Steve said best way is to take a copy of the source, set it up some where and prune it, then import from the pruned source.

I anticipate duplicate users. Should I prune all of the users? In that case, I'm assuming all the posts would be changed to Guest Posts?
