I tried to import my friends SMF 1.1.8 Forum into a fresh installed vB 3.8.2 today. The First step in the Modules worked fine, it recognized all valid SMF tables. Then I imported the Usergroups, also no problem. Then I tried to import the Users, and I got that error.
Why wouldnīt it work ? The SMF Forum is in perfect conditions, no problems. And the vB is a fresh install. Why do I have this Error ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, one thing I donīt know exactly. Me being main Admin in both these Forums, i have the same Username on both Forums, the old SMF and the new vB. There was something with the association and Admins while the Import. Can someone please explain to me exactly what that means for me in my case ? I donīt want to do anything wrong.
Thanks

Those accounts do not have valid email addresses which is why they are failing.

Sure they have, we have that Forum for a long time and all Email adresses in there are all valid and fine. Wonder why vB doesnīt accept that. Seems the Converter doesnīt work properly.
Too bad. :(
Btw, both Forums are in the same Database. I installed vB in there too because in many other Softwares for converting you have to install both in the same Database.

No, the importer does work fine. The problem is those email addresses.

That cant be because the SMF Forum works fine, incl. all Email Adresses. Its all fine, so there cannot be anything wrong with the Email adresses.

That does not mean anything. Some SMF forums are able to use faulty email addresses and still function.

Ok, got that sorted out. Had no errors etc. on the Import Process. Did all the Update things and when I check on the Post & Thread count, it fits the original Forumīs values.
But, in many Forums are many Threads not there. Though it says they would be. How can that be ?
Some Forums even say they have posts, the number theyīre supposed to have from the original SMF content, but they are empty when you click in. Why is that ?
Is the Import not possible properly without loss ?

I repeated imported the Threads and Posts. And though the numbers are correct, there are hardly half of the threads and posts in there after the import. What the **** is happening ?:(

Ok, found that out myself now. The thread view settings had to be changed for each Forum. ;)
But another thing. All imported users have been added to a Group called "IMPORTED USERS". With almost 600 Users, how can i add them all to the standard Registered Users group without editing every single one of them ?
Also, when I try to execute an SQL Query it tells me that I donīt have the right to execute SQL Queries. Why is that when I am the main admin ?

1. As per the documentation you delete the imported grups to move them to Registered:
http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/impex_cleanup
2. To run queries you first need to give yourself permission to run queries in the Admin CP. To do this, edit this section of config.php:
$config['SpecialUsers']['canrunqueries'] = 'x';
...with x being your userid number.
