View Full Version : After import from Phorum: Wrong post count & user search does not work

I have a test installation of the newest vBulletin 3.8 and did an import from an existing Phorum5. The import worked well, but I found two issues:
1. The users post count shows zero for all users. I went through all steps mentionend in the readme file of Impex. But whenever I try to rebuild the post counter in the admin maintenance, it only counts new postings for a user. That means postings a user wrote after the import. All imported postings are not counted.
2. Also these imported postings can not be found when I search for postings or threads of a user. But they can be found, when searching for keywords. New postings (created after the import are found).
What can I do?

It sounds like those posts were imported but not linked to a specific account. Is the username clickable on those posts?

No, the user name is not clickable in those postings.

Then those posts were imported without a user account attached to them. You can try redoing the import from scratch but if the same thing happens then this means there is something wrong with the source data.

Thanks for the quick replies.
Here some additional informations:
I'm using Phorum 5.1.23. The first import failed, because the tables for the private messages had wrong names. The table with the nessages is named phorum_pm_messages instead of phorum_private_messages. I solved this issue by changing the the 000.php in /impex/systems/phorum5. May be the importer needs some more changes?
Also there are some more tables beginning with phorum_pm_.
Another issue I discovered: The groups from phorum were not imported. All users were put in one group named "_imported".

Okay, I repeated the import and ended up with the same result: No thread or post were linked to an user.
In the next step I checked the data of the phorum database. In the phorums message table - which contains all posts - there was a small amount (less than 10%) of entries with a missing user id. They all showed the correct authors name in the field author but the id 0 in the field user_id. An user with id 0 does not exist. But, in the imported data in the new vbulletin installation all threads and posts have the user id 0 - not only those with id 0 in the original data.
Any idea how I can solve this issue?

Now I changed all user ids in the phorum table to the existing user 1. Then I restarted the import, but ended up with the same problem: All user ids in posts and threads are set to 0.

Since Impex is designed for Phorum version 5.0.16 it's possible that the version mismatch is the cause of this. Unfortunately since this is a Tier 3 importer it is not being maintained and updated. You may have to consider hiring a programmer to update the script for your version of Phorum.
