Hi,

Our company just purchased vB (though we use it for a public developer network as well) and I am looking to import ~9100 HTML files that I was able to export from Outlook, from a collection of 4 years worth of knowledge exchange in our company. For those interested, see here: http://shappyhopper.co.uk/stuff/outlookarchive.cgi
(http://shappyhopper.co.uk/stuff/outlookarchive.cgi)
We'd love to be able to import these HTML files into vB in order to "seed" the site/board with compelling content & entice our co-workers to jump on the vB bandwagon to continue submitting & exchanging content.

Does Impex offer a way to import basic HTML files (and a small % of hyperlinked attachments (PDFs, images, other bitmaps)) into vB. At least into a single forum?

The most similar thread I found here is this, but I'm looking for better: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=192117&highlight=outlook+email

Looking forward to learning and using vB...

Appreciate any ideas you offer!

No sorry, that is not something Impex is designed to do. You would have to write a custom import script to do this.

You can try posting in the 'Requests for Paid Services' forum at vbulletin.org for help with this.

Paul,

just wondered if you had any luck with this? I'm looking to do the same thing, however cannot see a post from your username over at vbulletin.org

I only want to move a fair few more, however i can produce them in html or eml (microsoft e-mail) format, however im on a tight budget so maybe we could share costs?

Anyhow, if you could let me know that would be great..

Thanks (and apologies to mods for resurrecting this one again!)

I've written a few systems that import from flat HTML (and it's a real pain) though it was from very specific systems, so the HTML was constant and hopes of getting any threading were abandoned to 'nice to have if it happens'.

I've not seen any hacks on org that does this or requests for it yet.
