Wouldn't it be a great idea if vbulletin had a built in alphabetizing modification system? For example, a community with a dictionary of some kind, maybe a finance dictionary or an automotive dictionary can create a dictionary of various terms in their board. Once the terms are created, the creator or the admin can decide under what letter the term or phrase belongs.

For example:

I create a new dictionary on ROI I labeled the thread Definition of ROI, or ROI Defined, or What is ROI.

I create the post with the definition of ROI and a sample usage.

Then file it away under the letter R.

Is the dictionary concept to complex to have on vb? If this software is so popular and top notch among all forum software, it just seems that maybe it should be able to entertain the notion of having an A to Z feature built in.

I think that this type of feature could be handled by the vB content management system if it was flexible enough. You have a content type called definitions. Definitions have a title (the word or phrase your are describing) and the definition itself. You would then have a listing view of the Definition items in alphabetical order broken out by letter. I think this would be used by many topical communities like ours.

I just learnt that if you go to edit forum, where it says sort posts by: The default is by last post. I know there is A-Z. There may also be by username.
