ok i have found where to put it but it would not work when I put [youtube] around the like in the pot and submit it, the post becomes blank....what am i doing wrong

You need to create the bbcode first, using Jake's instructions in the link in post #2. Once you've finished that correctly, you'll be able to post a youtube link.

when I save it I do see the vid in the "replacement box" in the BB code manager

The description field should show...

Use the movie code from the YouTube URL in your browser. For example, http://youtube.com/watch?v=JFwCCL0Vh6U

... so other people know how to use it.

When you make a post, add you using the example field code exactly like you posted?

Don't put the whole link in the tags of youtube. Just put the end bit which is the video id
