AIM Hack?

Where can I get that AIM hack I've seen? It has your buddy list or whatever at the bottom with the PMs and Users Online and all. I did a search but it said AIM was under 3 char so it wouldn't search for me.

I don't think that's what it is. Nice link though. It's like you could signon to AIM (or whichever chat system) through the vB. It was a sweet hack and I wish I could remember where I saw it.

Alot of our members get together in a chat on aim, we added a button at the top of the page (near the user control panel) that links them to it.

Not sure if that was what you were looking for or not.

What template and where in that template do I add the text? That's a great hack!

Off hand I am not sure which template it is, but it shouldn't be too hard to find.....

All we did was make a button which linked to that.

In the Header Template look for

<!-- toplinks -->

Then add in there somewhere:


<a href="aim:GoChat?RoomName=Shinra+chat"><img src="{imagesfolder}/top_chat.gif" alt="Chat on AIM" border="0"></a>



Just replace Shinra+Chat with your own room name using pluses to replace spaces.

*note: this only works for people who have AIM, and I think they have to have it running.
