so this is my first time attempting anything like this, and i am having a few issues..........

first error is received.......
Attempting to attach to database
Error description: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect (http://www.4xfanatics.com/forums/install/function.mysql-connect)]: Access denied for user 'glock36'@'97.74.144.120' (using password: YES) /home/content/g/l/o/glock36/html/forums/includes/class_core.php on line 311
The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the 'includes/config.php' file.

and now i can't even get into the installer, called my host (godaddy)tech support and said their end is running just fine.

I don't know what "line 311" or any other line number is, can someone describe what i am supposed to be looking at.

oh and one other thing, the host tech said was that my database is missing an index file:confused:

i would greatly appreciate some help with this, i did see a link to a thread that is common in answering these type questions, however i found it of no help.

The most likely cause of this error is that the info in your config.php file is wrong or your db user does not have full permissions to this database. Please read this for all the known causes of this error:

what is line 311??

i have read that thread about 20 times over, either i am missing something or it doesn't apply to me.

i dont understand what is meant when they talk about the line numbers. isit just that each new line is that number....

Don't worry about the line number. See Post #2 for the most likely cause of this error.

It is the information to connect to your database that is incorrect. If you are not sure what information you should be using then you need to contact your host to check it.
