Hi..

I run vbulletin, vbseo, vbulletin blogs, classified and several mods. We go through 50gig of bandwidth and a million page views a month.

What sort of hosting would you recommend?

Shared hosting I think is out.... would you go for a VPS or a dedicated box?

What OS is best for vbulletin? centos seems popular, but is it the best free distro for vb?

Go for a low-end dedicated box with CPanel + CentOS.

I high-end VPS might give you better performance depending on the setup. Good VPS's are running in a RAID setup with 15K drives.

I will recommend a VPS or Vbulletin Hosting package with URLJET, As i am hosting with them from past 7 months .Their server are lite speed , much faster than others .My forum is running much faster than ever before .Their servers are also secure with file guardian.I will suggest URLJET.com

The Planet? I'm still having people with all sorts of problem since the fire. DNS not working correct, terrible customer service. I'm not certain they're ever going to recover 100%

I've been moving folks off of The Planet servers and over to Server Beach.

High end VPS will be fine with at least 1-2 GB guaranteed RAM.

With 50GB bandwidth, you should be okay with 512 mb guaranteed RAM. Above that, go for a small dedicated instead of high end VPS.

How many visitors at the same time your forum have in peaks and average?
