Hosting on shared + dedicated

Hello,

I currently have 2 forums. Each of them has 4000 uniques visits a day, 1 has 103,000 posts and the other one 60,000 posts.

Each forum is hosted on a different hostmonster account (i have 2 accounts there).

Since the traffic is growing and also the cpu usage, I'm having my account getting suspended 2 to 5 times a week, for periods of 15 minutes each.

Both sites use like 200 gigs of data. So getting a dedicated server with more than 200 gigs of space is expensive.

My idea is to have my "data" in hostmonster and the database on a dedicated server, anyone every tried this configuration?

enabled the hotlink in your webdrive menu then you can avoid this problem

You probably mean both sites use like 200GB of bandwidth, not actual space. If you dont have budget for a dedicated you can go for a VPS, probably with 500GB of bandwidth or more.

Nope I have a forum where users can hear songs :)

that site alone uses 195 GB of hard drive space :eek: and like 500 gig of tranfer / monthly.

You really need a dedicated server based on those stats.
