Hello everyone, I just moved from Shared hosting to VPS, and was wondering if anyone could direct me to a VPS user guide for dummies, or some type of tutorial etc.
My site is up and running but I really dont know what I have to do now, Im familiar with CPanel from my Shared hosting, but the new WHM panel and the Power Panel ,,well I dont know where to start .....LOL
Many thanks in advance for any tutorials or information,

Oh I feel for you! I've just done the same and it's complete brain damage...
I'm just taking little steps and hoping I don't break anything on the way.
Anyway, I hope you get some great replies!
Good luck :D

If you are having access to VZPP then you should go through the below url to view the Linux Virtuozzo tutorials.

The only additional feature you have is WHM. You can check WHM tutorials at http://www.cpanel.net/docs/whm/

Ensure that a good software firewall is running on your VPS. A couple options for *nix-based VPS are:
http://www.configserver.com/cp/csf.html
http://rfxnetworks.com/apf.php
A majority of the hacked forums posted here are due to insecure servers.
Learn how to configure the firewall to restrict ports so that only your network can access the server control panel and FTP. With an outside email filtering service, like Google/Postini or SpamStopsHere, you can also block SMTP to all but your network and the respective filtering service - which has nothing to do with vbulletin, but will keep your server off of a spam blacklist and minimize the server's load.
You would want to investigate how to modify server config files to limit control panel, ftp, and ssh access to your network as well. If possible, enable the capability to use SFTP or FTP within a VPN Tunnel.
If this seems overwhelming to you, check around the web hosting forums for consultants who help secure cpanel servers. Sometimes seeing a pro do it helps one learn.
Hope this helps,
