I recieved the follwing error at the last page after the upgrade script ran all the way through. In my admincp it still says that I'm running the old version of vb, and there have been multiple database errors being sent to my email, especially in regards to user registration. Everything worked fine before the upgrade, I'd like to get this issue resolved.

I got the same exact thing, except without that "error" you got there.
Nevermind, my installation works now. It seems like I forgot to point my browser to the upgrade script. Grrr.....I hate when I forget!

You've got mixed colations, you'll need to change the tables to one or the other. This is caused by your database being set for a default that your tables are not currently set for.

Wait what, I don't quite understand your meaning.

I'm getting an error trying to upgrade from 3.7.4 PL 1 to 3.8.0. When I get to the script, it keeps telling me: "Your vBulletin (3.7.4) does not appear to be running the version that was downloaded (3.8.0).
This generally means your upgrade was not successful. Please ensure that you have uploaded the latest files and click here to try again.
If you are sure you wish to continue with this part of the upgrade, click here."
This is the second upgrade I have done since first getting vBulletin and I've follwowed the instructions closely and uploaded all the files from the upload/ folder minus the install/ twice, so I don't know what the problem could be. I am also getting this message sent to my webmaster email address: Database error in vBulletin :
mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
