I did revert the templates.

Do you have vbSEO? I think this is a known issue that was even addressed in the 3.8.0 announcement.

Yes I am running vbSEO...

Crap... what now? Do have to downgrade or is there a fix?

Did you go read the announcement? There is a link to a patch in there.

yes... but no directions on where to upload the single file patch. can you advise?

i replaced the vbseo.php file in the foot of my site and it didn't fix it

I'd suggest going to the vbseo forums and reading about the issue. I'm sure there are instructions there (I don't run vbseo so I can't help).

The same problem :(
I'm upgrade to 3.8.0 and disable all navbar , ajax,choice editor and ... . with IE .(Don't run vbseo and disable all plugin and create new style)
