Before I Purchase

I currently run a small clan based, gaming forum using phpbb3, and want to upgrade to Vbulletin.

I have looked about the forum here for converting the database, is the impex program easy to use ?

And would i stand to lose any information from my current forum ? Like posts, or threads ?

I have worked with vbulletin on a site I admin at, and have to say I love it.

Kind of curious, as I really dont want to have to start again.

We do have an import script for phpBB3. You can read about it here:

Please note that since phpBB3 passwords are encrypted, they cannot be imported. Your users will need to reset their passwords after the import. You can read more about this here:

My paid hosting offers me 5 databases, so would i be right, in assuming that if i create a new database for the VBulletin conversion, i would still keep my original phpbb stuff ?

It all seems pretty straight forward after reading up a bit.

And will most certainly be purchasing.

Yes, vB only requires one database.
