Uupgrading from Beta 2 to Beta 3

I get this error when I run the upgrade script


Parse error: parse error, unexpected '&', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /var/www/html/forums/includes/functions.php on line 5883

The site is offline after I upload all the files.
All I see is a white screen, no errors.
Once I re-upload the beta 2 files, the site starts working again. Especially after I upload the ones in the includes folder.

If you have beta 3, you also have to have php 5 at the moment - allthough I think they will be fixing this shortly because you weren't supposed to need beta 5 until vb4.0 comes out. it's the includes php files that mess it up right now.

There will be a solution today? I made an upgrade and I am without my forum!!!!

There is only one minor database change in 3.8.0 Beta 3 over Beta 2. You should be able to upload all of your beta 2 files to eliminate the errors that you are seeing with no ill effect on your forums.

Once updated Beta 3 files are available or Beta 4 is released, you can upgrade to them.
